I get seasonal allergies with unwanted effects such as sneezing, itchy skin and worse of all a runny nose.
Lately i have been taking Life brand’s Aller-Relief which seems to quell the symptoms till they dare return. Today at the pharmacy i didnt find my brand so i picked up another brand and i didnt realiize its one of those that makes you drowsy. I’ve never believed in people complaining about drowsiness because ive never experienced such before. But this medicine seems to have knocked me the ***k out. I took one tablet around noon today and fell asleep within half n hour. Slept what seemed like 82 hours and woke up around 7 pm. Since then i have been dizzy and my head feels like it weighs 11 tonnes. How will this state of suspension go away and what can i do / take to resume a normal life again?
Re: Knocked out by allergy medication

Re: Knocked out by allergy medication

it will wear off, don’t worry. just do NOT take it again
Re: Knocked out by allergy medication
You took Aller-Relief, which is actually the Cetirizine antihistamine.... and it's known as one of the antihistamines that makes you really drowsy! Give Loratadine (sold under Clarityn) a try; it's marketed as "non drowsy", but some people have reported that they feel drowsy when they take this... it's really a case of trial and error where you find which one works for you, as we all tolerate medicine differently.
Re: Knocked out by allergy medication
loratadine/fexofenadine is the only anti allergy med that doesnt knock me out..
