Lockdown has me reminiscing over life which naturally resulted in me thinking about the hours and hours I spent on Gupshup during my university days. Oh what fun the mature ‘General’ crowd had teasing the ‘Cafe’ kids
Can’t believe it’s been almost 20 years since I joined this forum. Getting old sucks. I miss those carefree days.
Are there any oldies around?

Gosh this place has changed so much! There was a lot more traffic when I was an active user (2001 - 2005ish) but I guess that was before social media changed the face of online interactions. Kinda sad to see how much things have changed.
I kind of missed the bus for more popular social media platforms. I prefer GS’ style as it’s kind of anonymous yet personal. I’m on a car maintenance and review forum that I only use when there is an issue with my car or I’m looking for a car. We discussed how that platform has not only survived but flourished past the more popular platforms. It seems the siloed nature of such platforms keeps bringing people back to it.
I would like to know more how did GS feel like in that early era. Ofcourse we can see the archived threads but how did the guppies/guppans feel back then.
In a way, they are the true heirs. So come back and claim the throne
