'Kkrishh stars Hrithik in the role of a ‘superhuman who can fly in the air’
Talk of special effects in Indian films and one cannot but mention Rakesh Roshan’s science fiction thriller Koi Mil Gaya', which featured Hrithik as a mentally challenged man, who was transformed into a superhuman’ with the help of a creature from the outside world.
If Koi Mil Gaya' dazzled the viewers by its 'never before' special effects the superhuman acts by Jadoo’, the creature from outer space, the sequel of the science fiction film, titled `Kkrish’, promises to put India on the world map as a country which can match the best of Hollywood films in terms of its extensive use of special effects.
The film has a distinct Hollywoodesque feel to it in that it contains several breathtaking action sequences featuring Hrithik, Jare said.
Kkrishh stars Hrithik in the role of a 'superhuman who can fly in the air, climb huge buildings or perform several breathtaking stunts similar to those done by, say, a Spiderman, Superman or Batman.
The action sequences of the film have been directed by Tony Ching Siu Tung from Hong Kong. In addition, the Hollywoodesque special effects have been done by International special effects experts Mark Kolbe and Craig Mumma from the United States, who had also done the special effects for `Koi Mil Gaya’.
The use of the latest special effects has meant that the total cost of making `Kkrish’ will come to more than Rs 50 crore, making it the costliest film of the Filmcraft banner till date, Jare said.
The film has actress Priyanka Chopra in the female lead with Hrithik. The rest of the cast includes Manini De, Kiran Juneja, Archana Puran Singh, Puneet Issar and Naseeruddin Shah.
