I was wondering why doesn’t shoaib masoor send his film to the oscars? what’s the harm in trying? if it wins we’ll be proud of him and if it doesn’t whats the big deal? We have nothing to lose anyway.

one needs to spend a fortune to advertise a movie & do marketing (which is load of work & diff from the one done @ the time of movie's release) before nomination list is prepared for oscars, i don't think that SM would have that much money or that many sponsors.

KKl is definitely oscar worthy!
Not an iota of doubt--that Shoaibi's KKL is worth the nomination...!
Here's what you all should do...
Capture the OSCAR website....and flood it with your thoughts on KKL..
let them know...press upon them....speak out....and one word from them that someone should send it...we'll together---push the Pakistani Authorities...to do so.
PAKISTAN is no less...when it comes to showbiz and movies but then again...the only thing we lack....probably...is a strong and powerful MEDIA and with MEDIA you can make a bald man like me...buy a comb!
Great idea on KKL for nomination...and this forum should play its role now...

KKL was released in mid 2007, and even though the 2008 Oscars are long gone, I believe they are on the verge of shortlisting the movies for 2009 which they will announce in January, so its too late.
Honestly, I love Shaoib Mansoor, but Oscars are too far fetched. Theres clearly many production flaws in the movie by international standards though its a pioneering effort and SM deserves all the praise for undertaking this project. There are alot of other smaller movie award events throughout the world, and thats what he should be aiming for, to get recognition, something like the Sundance film festival etc.
