My parent’s told me to start compiling a list of things I will need/want so we don’t have to start buying things all of a sudden (I’m not getting married for 1-2 years).
Thus far, I got one thing which is something I’ve wanted as a kid!
A KitchenAid Mixer in this gorgeous hot pink color (it’s called Raspberry Ice),here is the link if anyone is interested. The pink color was a total splurge since it’s almost double the price of the regular ones 
but it was limited-edition and… IT IS SO GORGEOUS. Sigh.
Aaaaand I wanted to get matching measuring cups/spoons, and found perfect ones from Sur La Table. Both of these are available at Sur La Table. Links: measuring spoons and the measuring cups.
I also wanted a Le Creuset Dutch Oven pot, a Carbon-steel wok, some Japanese or German knives (do not want those wooden sets that are usually very dull or dull very fast), a Vitamix blender (heard very good things about this), a bamboo cutting board, a Cuisinart food processor and I really want an adorable tea pot with a Victorian touch. 
There are still a bunch of things to get (my fiance and I we will be starting from scratch so I’ll need things like spoons/graters/mixing bowls…there is a lot to sort out. Any tips or ideas from you guys?

honestly it kinda depends from person to person what theyre taking ... i understand that you are fond of cooking etc ... but for me .. im going to be cooking occasionally so im not thinking of preparing a must haves list there but rather keep money to buy them as and when i need ...
however i am more of a decor person ... like i want to decorate my room .. give it a pro-interior design look .. so yeah iv got a list like
kinds and color combinations of cushions - bed sets - comforters
color combos and styles of sofas
decor items - like if i want bean bags somewhere or gao pillows or chairs or whatevers
carpeting and curtains
maybe appliances like my room fridge and/or oven (come to think of it i do have a THING for cooking :))
but basically ill be going to lahore so the big stuff like the bed sets and all will be bought there - so iv saved pictures of the kinds of beds and rooms im interested in.
and im also a makeup+shoes bags person .. trust me i start buying bags and shoes 1 yr in advance too hehe!

And my fiance is not letting me buy furniture, AT ALL. I'll get to help and pick things but they won't let me buy the sofas or anything. All I get to pick is kitchen stuff and things which I want to bring from my own house etc so I thought I'd go all out for kitchen appliances and things of that nature. :)
As for makeup, I am a huge makeup fanatic so I've been collecting makeup for a while. I'll only need to buy perfumes, shoes, and purses. I wish I was getting married sooner. :(

i totally understand - i have made a list of things i want for the make up collection but I cant buy beforehand as I am concerned that they will ruin a little if i store them for such a long time - as for the things I mentioned ... im not buying buying them .. hehe i just make the list and poof they appear .. :P ... basically all my relatives wanted to get me one thing or the other .. from furniture to appliances to stuff .. so they kinda select what they wana gift me from my wish-list .. convenient isnt it :D

I am to wed in oct/nov so i need a balance of when i start my hardcore shopping .. for make up and lady stuff !! Bags and shoes which i kinda drool over i just buy on the spot since they can be stored ... jewelry is also something that can be stored .. small appliances like straightners and curlers .. lady machines .. :P .. can be bought beforehand .. Dont forget the suit cases!! they have to be stored somewhere!
