So we decided to change our kitchen tiles from a dreary grey to sparkling black granite but now all the old tiles have been removed the tiling guy has said he doesn’t have a granite cutter 
These were the tiles we wanted

Does anyone know of any ceramic/glass tiles which will give a similar sparkly effect? Or have any suggestions for black (or black mixed) tiles in general?

why not find a different tiling guy … one with a granite cutter?
also why does he have to have a granite cutter? cant he rent one? … or cant the material be taken to a vendor/granite cutting place? …
why should you have to compromise on your choice of design/material for a very easy fix (at least in USA) issue?

^Just my mum uses him for work at my parents’ house and we thought it might be a bit rude to ditch him lol
He could hire a granite cutter but he hasn’t offered so I guess he just doesn’t feel confident

I’d just hire someone who knows how to work with granite. It’s not like you’re ditching the guy deliberately - he can’t do the job that you need him to do.
If he does not feel confident then why did he pick up a job that would require granite cutting?
Is that tile guy also known as your hubby to the rest of the world? Come clean with us lady. We won’t make fun of you. It’s usually hubbies who like to impress their wives as a skilled handyman by picking up a project, only to realize half way down that they lack skills, tools, or both to finish the task.

Nah, not my hubby :DTile guy didn’t know we wanted granite.. My mum just sent him round saying “they want to change the colour of their tiles” so he took them all off in an afternoon..

well … granite is expensive and the one you’ve chosen is really lovely. as others have said as well, chose a worker who is experienced in working with granite tiles, otherwise you’ll lose time and money if there are mistakes etc…
its not rude honestly as long as you explain yourself/your need politely. thank him and pay him for the work he did already. its business not personal.

Its good we are only talking tiles. If it was some health issue and your mom had sent some family doctor aur wo kehta k sorry I am not ent specialist, tu tum nai apni kidney tabdeel kerwa laini thi 
and on serious note, he can perhaps rent if from homedepot?

for my kitchen i went to went tiles and i was told by several people not to get tiles that have too much design as in kitchen its very hard to clean if food goes in it while cooking:
In my house i have like these (below) and they are very hard to clean especially stains from cooking.
