Whats the big deal as long as they are not going all gaga over each other? A light peck on the cheek, holding hands, hugging doesn't hurt anyone. I support PDA.
I like the Iranian society in this regard. Unlike here, where people suffer from
"Aap ki bhabi" syndrome (instead of introducing as my wife), I found couples, aged as well as young (crossing the streets, sitting in the gardens, shoppin in the bazaars) holding hands and showing affection towards the other.
Aap ke bhabhi syndrome symbolises the cultural mannerism that we carry with us. Guys talk to their parents and say "aap kee bahoo" about their wife. That is the "jhijhuk" we use to be so proud of and now its vanishing.
Now its only Meri biwi, mera shauhar and no one else matters

i can understand where you are coming from but my point wasn't to be cndescending towards certain cultural norms and nuances but to take a jibe at our collective conventional attitudes...
That’s because “main baap banne wala hoon” sounds so freakin’ filmy. “Aap dadi banne wali hain” is sweet. “my wife is pregnant” in urdu sounds too besharam, so really, either one you mention would be okay compared to the urdu version of “my wife is pregnant”..
isn't it usually either "she's in the family way" or "she's expecting"?
what's wrong with saying "i'm pregnant! yay!" haha
its not besharam, its a state of being. and a bloody privileged one too! half the population of the world can't even go through that!
