Ever heard of 70’s when country fairs, carnivals and college events used to have kissing booths? Some pretty face blond is letting you kiss her for a dollar. Those booths used to be hit in any event, whether the purpose was some fund raising or for girls to make some extra money.
I dont care how much sexual liberation was ruling the society, but how can you have any Tom, Dick or Harry kiss you on your lips. And what about the guys? How could you kiss a girl, no matter how pretty she is, who has been kissed by 200 times from this morning.
What is the purpose of this thread? I have no idea.
Ok on a serious note, what I was trying to say that Sexual Liberation is one thing, and hygiene is another. It seems that the hippie generation got confused and thought that both cant exist at the same time.
Prostitution is the world’s oldest trade and existed before the kissing booths. The former is far worse and makes the kissing booths seem like nothing in comparison. The questions you have asked regarding the booths…“how can you let any guy kiss you, how can you swap spit with a girl who has been kissed by so many”…can be applied to prostitutes. Only thing is it’s illegal and can’t be used as a fundraiser.
I think they thought sexual liberation can co-exist with hygiene and hence they had no fear.
Only to find out the contrary and cases of STD’s became common.
And with AIDS emerging in early 80’s people had to think again that sexual liberation cannot exist with hygiene. So much so that even public bathing and use of public toilet was considered dangerous.
