Kismat/Naseeb

So I think most people believe in kismat/naseeb.

My question is can kismat/naseeb be changed by the power of dua? I mean isnt whatever is suppose to happen for us, good or bad, already written down?

Peace sweetmoi,

I'm among those who think there is nothing like good-luck or bad-luck and about your question, let hear what other members have to say :)

Re: Kismat/Naseeb

No body?

Re: Kismat/Naseeb

Dear Sweetmoi, kismat/naseeb/taqdeer/fate/luck is true concept in islam and according to the quran as I understand it, it means set laws of Allah whereby results of people actions are decided just like actions of all things in this universe produce results. In short set laws of Allah govern all things in the universe so no action remains unfulfilled ie all actions have results or all causes have effects this is law of nature as set by Allah. Healthy food makes you healthy and unhealthy food makes you unhealthy. Nothing can change it naturally or supernaturally.

The make belief concept of taqdeer or preset destiny is not correct in light of the quran or in light of the way the universe works.

Please read this reply in light of rest of my posts because there is a wider context to it.

regards and all the best.

Re: Kismat/Naseeb

Word duaa in the quran is mostly used in sense of invitation. As in english we say by doing such and such you are inviting trouble. Or in urdu we say, tum flan kaam kar ke apni mot ko awaaz de rehe ho. museebat ko awaaz dena waghaira.

So in quranic sense calling upon Allah means calling to mind how laws of Allah work and thereby relying upon them for getting out of any trouble. That is once we remember the fact that things happen only and only accoring to set laws of Allah we then learn how to do things according to laws of and solve the problems that face us. This is how Allah inspires humanity to do what it needs to do through guidance of Allah.

This however does not mean we should not pray to Allah but that we must take practical steps only then we will see results as I understand the quran. Let me try and explain it another way. Suppose a man prays God give me a son but he does not do what he is supposed to do as set law of Allah ie get married. He is not going to get a son no matter how long he keeps on praying. It is because Allah does not do things the way we assume he does. In fact we are making fun of Allah and his book this way by doing things against the quran then complaining.

tadbeer=planning can change destiny this is why nations that plan better succeed and those that do not fail. Planning is not against taqdeer. Whatever we do brings results accordingly. Set laws of Allah do not change rather we change the way we do things therefore results of our actions also change.

Re: Kismat/Naseeb

Sweetmoi, our destiny is pre written and there will be no change. Dua gives us strength in certain circumstances so that we not get astray.

Peace Sweetmoi,

Please refer the post of Mughal :)

Re: Kismat/Naseeb

If Kismat/Naseeb cannot be changed by Due then what is the purpose of Dua?

Re: Kismat/Naseeb

^I want to know that too :bummer:

Re: Kismat/Naseeb

I appreciate all your replies and I will get back with questions. I need some time to understand them.

Re: Kismat/Naseeb

Peace,

Whatever good/bad is happen that is pre-written. Dua's just help to make a right decision :)

Re: Kismat/Naseeb

so where is free will if events are pre-written?

Re: Kismat/Naseeb

Peace queer,

'free will' is at the point of making a decision.

Re: Kismat/Naseeb

Allah created time, future is time, surely Allah knows your future. Everything is written, only Allah knows everything. Allah knows you will struggle for this world and akhira. Allah knows your end result, where you’ll end up. This is all knowledge for Allah. Don’t try to understand because it’s beyond us. Just leave it, no need to be upset, be thankful. This is not our priority, our priority is our future, struggle for it like you struggle for wordily desires and comfort. Live the simple life. No headaches no pain. Allah knows best.
