Its common for desis to think this whenever something doesnt go according to plan, or if theyre ill, or anything, in my other post where i said why do people overeat, lots of sugary stuff etc and get diabetes, and then blame someone else, jadoo kiya hai, not actually thinking its their own fault.
why do desis think this, never heard this from anyone but from our own people.
Re: kisi nai mujpe jadoo kiya hai
first let's define jadoo. black magic does exist, we can agree on that right?
now, which community has more experience in using black magic? the west or desis? you go to the big cities in pakistan, you will find these babas sitting in every corner and women are lined up to get their potions. so there is no doubt the percentage of black magic practitioners in our countries is far higher than where you grew up (west). that is why the 'desis' blame black magic.
yes most of the time it's exaggeration, it's jahalat. but then what difference is there between a westerner who takes a pill for every type of pain and even when there's nothing wrong vs the desi who blames magic for every type of difficulty? none, both taking the easy way out vs taking care of themselves by finding legit means.
Re: kisi nai mujpe jadoo kiya hai
Black magic DOES exist. But....the problem with many desis (and especially back in the motherland).....is that for every little problem.....be it an illness, a business failure, relationship issues....they rush to the conclusion that it's black magic....ya phir a milder form like...."Kisi ki nazar lag gayi hai."
^It's a lot easier to have this assumption than to actually THINK about other plausible reasons behind one's problems. It's also much easier to blame the black arts or the evil eye than to realize that YOU might be the root cause of the problem and that YOU need to work on yourself.
Having patience and faith in Allah (which are difficult to do)...are emphasized in Islam...and it's said that when one loses hope and patience in Allah.....one can become more inclined to turn to black magic....superstition.....and the pseudosciences.
There was a youtube documentary on black magic several months ago...and it was interesting to learn that people who commonly turn to black magic are not the poor (cuz they can't afford it)....but rather those who are educated and can afford it. I think such attitudes can transcend class and education sometimes.
