Re: Kingdom of Heaven
MWAP, there was not just one battle, crusades last for over two centuries. However, at Saladin times, he was the ultimate victor. He had such a character that even Lion Heart was his admirer.

Re: Kingdom of Heaven
As if Salahudin was fighting for some Kurdish enclave. Did you know that Tariq bin Zayad was a Berber and Musa bin Nasser was a Yemeni? But Alhamdulilah they were known Muslim Generals.
Re: Kingdom of Heaven

I think the movie will be about this time…
1187: With his new strength he attacks the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem, and after 3 months of fighting he gets control over the city.
1189: A third Crusade manages to enlarge the coastal area of Palestine, while Jerusalem remains under Saladin’s control.
Re: Kingdom of Heaven
Nothing wrong with him being Kurdish and yes I do know about Tariq Bin Ziyad and Muhammad bin Qasim..(did you know what was done to both those great Generals?)..just correcting an historical point..also the premise behind the movie is slightly flawed..the third crusade began with Richard the Lion Heart..the events recounted I am guessing are those of the Kingdom of Jerusalem and preceding the Battle of Hittin..I imagine it'll deal with the Crusader who attacked the Pilgrimage routes and who Saladin swore to kill with his own hands..
Re: Kingdom of Heaven
what is this I hear about the guy playing saldin having a squeaky voice.
Don’t tell me they got a fag to play his part. What a shame.
Re: Kingdom of Heaven
One of the top ten general of all-time, the genius behind battle of Yarmuk, widely accepted as the one most decivise battle in history, Khalid Bin Waleed was an Arab…So was the conquerer (Saad Bin Ibi Waqas) of the mighty persian empire…
Then you have Muhammad Bin Qasim, and not to forget Umar (RA), Ali (RA), Abdul Rehman Bin Awof, Zarrar (RA), and etc. were all great warrior and incidently Arabs…
One thing is for sure, none of the great islamic warriors were punjabis…we’ve had great warriors and general from almost every major ethnic group or nationality, be it the Arabs, Turks, Pukhtoons, Afghans, Chechens, Berbers, Africans, Kurds, Uzbeks, Tartars and etc., except for punjabis…
Re: Kingdom of Heaven
Che but we have plenty of modern day turncoat generals from Punjab.
Re: Kingdom of Heaven
tch tch. just cuz they weren’t Muslim doesn’t make the many Punjabi Generals in history any less of a warrior… i wonder who Alexander the Great fought in Jehlum.. must have been some Mexican warrior..
MiniMe bhaijaan u’re so right.. damn Mushy the Punjabi general ![]()
Re: Kingdom of Heaven
PA, I said "modern day" Pakistani generals.
Mushi is almost Punjabi, but I was hinting towards Zia, Tikka, and Karamat.
Re: Kingdom of Heaven
that first part was for Che.. i’m sure he’ll respond when he can pull the burrito out of u know where…
his mouth people!
and MiniMe bhaijaan… mard-e-momin Zia-ul-Haq a turncoat?.. ![]()
Re: Kingdom of Heaven
Noor uddin :ra: was a much more respected individual than Salahuddin, Both amazing, but western literature tends to focus more on Salahuddin, than Noor.
When Noor :ra: was a much more greater warrior. One man army. Supported by Allah swt.
Re: Kingdom of Heaven
Yes, I am aware of the fact that he was a Kurd and and hailed from the same town that Saddam did, that is Kirkuk…However, to an ignorant hick or a fascist hindu member of shiv sena pretending to be a hick…all the darkies/ragheads are a-rabs…
Re: Kingdom of Heaven
Mushy is a wannabe poonjabi, and tries too hard to come across as one, particularly with his fake punjabi accent…However, in his typical insidious and cowardly credentials, he is most certainly a punjabi…
