Pathans dominate 70 percent of all public transport in Pakistan. It is a very common sight that their trucks, buses, rickshaws and taxis adorn the picture of their beloved cricketer. “Afridi Afridi hai, us jaisa koi nahi, jaisa zalim batsman woh hai aur koi nahi (Afridi is Afridi. There is no one like him and no one can be as cruel a batsman as he is),” said Amanullah Zai, a taxi driver.
I love that guy to and im not even Pathan... Anyone that can flaw the opposition (especially the Indians ;) ) as thoroughly as he, deserves the respect.
Doesn't matter whether he is a Pathan or whatever, what matters is that he is a Pakistani and now a days delivers when his country requires him to do so.
This reminds me of last night (jee jee, meri yad-daasht kamzoor hai). I was watching this talkshow with guest Moin Khan (which was hilarious, by the way), and one of the questons the host asked him was did he ever get a crush on foreign women (from Australia, England, South Africa) or did they ever get a crush on him? He replied (masoomiat sey) "nahin jee, Pakistani team join kartey hee shaadi hogayi thee, to baigum-sahiba saath hotee thee, phir kisi cheez ki kamee mehsoos nahin hoti thee. Ab yeh nahin pata kay kisi ko mujhsay aisa kuch hua ho, magar Alhamdolillah".
Remember that time (long time ago, I'd reckon) when a girl, fully dressed as a bride, visited the stadium carrying a poster saying "I want to marry Afridi" (or something along those lines?)
i think everyone has there own opinion but yes i agree that love for afridi is no doubt everywhere and it is beautifully described whether you are in any city of pakistan but each city has its own style of showing excitement with afridi in the end what matters is that we all pakistani and pakistan zindabad. each city might have its own approach and style to show excitement about afridi but yet we are all same and pakistani mashallah se
