King Kong

Damn!

$207 million for 3 hours. The trailers do look pretty sweet. They could not have picked a more perfect actress for the part.

This movie could beat out Sin City for best movie of the year.

Re: King Kong

The movie looks extremely good. I thought it would be stupid, but looks like they have done an amazing job. When is it out?

Re: King Kong

It does look really good. But for some reason it reminds me of LOTR's. Same director, same location (as in Country) and if you watch the trailor as many times as i have, the scary people in the caves/film location place look an awful lot like the Orcs in LOTR's. I know it's a completely different movie and storyline, but I think of LOTR's.

I am loving the fact that Jack Black stars in it. LOVE Jack Black.

Re: King Kong

man, had peter jackson made this film released BEFORE LOTR, this film wouldnt have created much hype and neither would it look that good. its a remake which i doubt will do any good at the box office and if it does then the credit will have to go to jackson for being so popular after his trilogy hit movie. i dont see peter getting many "trophies" next year as he did when he made LOTR. prolly a OSCAR or two for cinematography and FX.

dang man 3 hours movie! interval toh aana parega movie mein!

Re: King Kong

Sin City best movie?!?!?! Where are you getting your info from buddy!?

Re: King Kong

It’s my opinion and most of the critics would agree.

Re: King Kong

I wasn't all that pumped up about it say 15 days back, but as the time draws near, I feel the excitement growing. From the man who brought us the most amazing triology of all times, comes this remake of a classic. Expectations are bound to be high.

Can't wait!

Re: King Kong

Pretty good.

I'll start off with the most positive. The CGI in this movie are easily the best I've ever seen by a large, large margin. Simply amazing. Kong literally looks like he's right in front of you.

Second, the Kong/T-Rex scenes? Wow. Some of the most awesome action sequences in the history of film. Kong truly kicks ass here, and it's where he really wins everyone over. Caution, though. It is hardcore. Real hardcore. At one point it's Kong against 3 T-Rex's, very intense.

Now onto the not so positive. LOTR were 3 hours each, but those 3 hours were justified. They were needed to tell such a vast story. As for Kong, it was drawn out. I'd say about 2 hours 15 minutes would be an ideal time, maybe 15 minutes more.

There was lots of good-natured humor throughout the film. It kept the film relatively lighthearted for much of the time you're there. Jack Black is kick ass as usual.

In conclusion, it is definitely worth the price of admission, simply for the amazing spectacle that it is.

Re: King Kong

Really pretty good. I did think it was a bit long (could have skipped some of the random giant creatures that attacked them).

Overall, well done and nice story.
