Kindle - What you think ?

My heart is set on Kindle Keyboard 3G (at least for now ) and I am looking for your opinion about it .

Do you have any of Kindle ? and what you think of it ? Will you buy it again if you’ll get a chance ?

Re: Kindle - What you think ?

I have Kindle Fire. It's ok. It's half the tablet for fraction of the price of a full tablet (at the time when it came out anyways...). I probably would just get a full tablet next time.

But since this is an ereader, I guess I can't expect it to be anything like a tablet. For books, it's probably very ideal.

Re: Kindle - What you think ?

I have the Kindle Keyboard Wifi. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, can beat the battery life on that thing. I charge that sucker about once a month. Last week I leave for work and start it up on the train and it gave me a warning that it was low on battery. I still used it for about 1.5 hrs. Then at work I totally forget to charge it and on the way back home I turn it on and get the warning again. I cringed, kicking myself. It thought it would go off any second. I lasted all the way back home. :)

I got it used on ebay for $50. There's no other device easier on the age'ing eyes, its light and fits in most jacket pockets. There's no reason not to have it.

Re: Kindle - What you think ?

Kindle should pay you for this testimonial. :hayaa:

Re: Kindle - What you think ?

Tofi the trick behind battery life is that it only uses battery to page changes . Once page is there its in Black and White and pixel retain their state, so it doesn't need any battery power . A very cool way of implementation .

Have you seen any flaw in it that I should look for before buying it ? Should I go for a new one or 2nd hand would work just fine ?

Re: Kindle - What you think ?

Yea I thought about Kindle Fire , but I just wana use it for book reading , and I didn't like the glare on screen while reading it in sunlight .

Re: Kindle - What you think ?

I got mine used, not problems.
I understand about when the battery is used. As long as its letting me do my reading why would i care when the battery is used.

Also, with a kindle i know i'm not going to get distracted with any emails or other notifications, or would want to watch videos or surf the web or color even :). Just all reading, all the time.

Re: Kindle - What you think ?

If you are not a regular reader, or if you only read at night while your spouse is sleeping next to you (you need to keep the lights on for Kindle), then you really dont need Kindle.

But yes, other that that, its an amazing product.

Re: Kindle - What you think ?

lol TLK, there will always be an exception to every rule. And we'll leave that to you to find it.
Remember rule # 1 for taking exams (specially multiple choice)? "Always" & "Never" is always the wrong answer!

Re: Kindle - What you think ?

You usually sleep before your spouse who anyways prefers to read on a Kindle App on her Air :snooty:. Does the light bother you? Te mennu tussi dus dendey, ithey thaagey vich raula pa’aN di kya loR si? :frowning:

Re: Kindle - What you think ?
