kind of driver

what kind of driver are you
Do you always drive within speed limit or never ?
Do you swear or honk horn at annoying and stupid drivers or you are that annoying driver yourself.

Do you think your driving habits have caused your car insurance to go up or you get discount for being a good driver.

Re: kind of driver

I am Very cautious and defensive driver.

Re: kind of driver

i am very cautious about my driving especially since i have my kids travelling with me most of the time, i do follow speed limits and do have my crazy days as well where i just want to get home right away.
Good driver or not no discount’s here i have a clean record and yet my insurance is quite high :chai:

Re: kind of driver

I have changed my driving habits as I now have kids with me in the car though not having kids in the car is no excuse to speeding or reckless driving.

I have also learnt that speeding does not get you to places as quickly as one would like to think.
I was getting late to work once, the road was clear and I had already dropped off my kid, drove way above the speed limit, did not get to work on time as I got pulled over, had to pay the speeding ticket and on top of that insurance increased slightly as well.

At the sametime I do get annoyed by blind and annoying drivers on the road. I usually only honk as my kids picks up whatever I say specially the bad stuff !!

Re: kind of driver

I am a terrible driver.

I got into three car accidents in my first year and a half of driving but Mashallah ever since then I havent gotten in one :sid:

I always drive over the speed limit.

I only honk when necessary. Like when someone rudely cuts me off or is about to run me over.

I dont have any points on my record, so my insurance is not affected by my driving at the moment.

Re: kind of driver

i'm ok. sometimes i go rash esp when i'm late, which is most of the times:) mostly i just drive 10km higher than posted limits. i rarely honk on others mistakes, never show fingers :D. one thing i dunno but my brakes and tires easily wears off and needs to be changed more often than my hubby's who drives in b/w provinces and drives a lot. my hubby think i do hard breaks which i mostly don't but again may be i do and don't realize.

Re: kind of driver

I drive offensively and use all weapons in my arsenal. From using high beams and cutting people off, to honking incessantly, flipping the bird and mouthing insults, everything is fair game. If I sense weakness and notice a cautious driver, I like to get right up in their snatch and use any combination of the tactics outlined above to make sure they think twice about driving again. It's my world, you're all just living in it.

Re: kind of driver

^ and they still let u roaming on roads?

Re: kind of driver

What Ghost said

Re: kind of driver

I am a defensive driver.

Re: kind of driver

 i heard that Attack is the best way of defense…that means…

Re: kind of driver

Ninji I always take revenge :x2:

Re: kind of driver

Cautious driver normally, as i dont have car insurance. :)

Re: kind of driver

I used to be reckless but not anymore. I got into one really bad accident at the age of 20 and since then...calmed down.

I will get irritated with bad driving though and curse, honk, whatever.

Re: kind of driver

Hmm I have never had to curse on the road… yet.

I do get irritated by cowardly passengers though… I think I drive well, but my advanced driving means that its like being in a roller coaster at full tilt.

I dont think I drive agressively becuase I know I could really put the foot down but I dont go over the limit unless its an emergency. So that is caution indeed.

However most people that are unlucky enough to be passengers with me would say I drive too fast and recklessly. :bummer:

All I have to say in defence of that is that in those times I was only on half power, I could do a lot worse. Thank heavens I dont drive a taxi. :stuck_out_tongue:

Re: kind of driver

I’ve been driving nearly two years now Mashallah no accidents… I’m quite vigilant when driving, don’t have kids so do drive like a little fast at times especially when I’m getting late for work not that its an excuse.

Insurance in my area is mental due to staged accidents and crazy drivers including none insured ones

Re: kind of driver

I drive 5-10mph *below *the limit and in the *left *lane. No worries so far.

I know some who are very chaotic but i guess its suites them, moving from lane to lane.

Re: kind of driver

I usually drive above the speed limit and I loathe slow drivers. If they’re not trying to find a place/figuring out directions…I think it’s rude…far more inconsiderate than the Speedy Gonzalezes on the road. They’re my #1 pet peeve. Today, on my way home from work, I switched over to the lane with traffic going in the opposite direction to pass the driver in front of me…that’s how much patience I have for them. Yes, I will sometimes honk at an annoying driver. And sometimes when someone honks at me, I honk back. I realize I need to work on staying within the speed limit. :hinna: I’m also noticing a pattern of slow cars..with Corollas leading the way. Sorry, Reha, but I loathe Corollas.

Re: kind of driver

The other day I was hauling a book shelve that my friend gave me in the trunk of my car. It was a little big so I had to tie it with a rope and I figure since I am not going on freeway it should be Ok. The distance between her place and mine is barely 3 miles and we live in a fancy shamancy suburb. So I was driving cautiously in a single lane road waiting it to become double so I can move to right and the driver behind me was going full blown crazy. So at the next stop the road widened and he overtook me honking and in midst of showing me a finger then he saw that I am a woman so he lowered his hand. The thing is it was in a neighborhood where there are street signals every block so he isn’t going anywhere and for the next mile or so he was in front of me on every signal. Why people act crazy and have road rage is beyond me.

Re: kind of driver

Always drive over the speed limit on highway! =( Every time, I make a mental note for myself to slow down but then make another excuse and so it goes! :bummer:

Oddly I am more careful on local roads though.

Dont honk, dont swear, well unless “pagal insaan” is considered under “bad words”
