Seminole, In Islam spirituality and governance and foreign policy are directly related. You know that...I have heard that here many times. The chip kaleem feels on his shoulder IS because of this phenomenon. If spirituality was just spirituality then one can chalk it up to singular or individual affinity. But when you are trying to explain away models of interaction with the wrold outside of islam per islam..then sorry it is fair game.
I will give you one example, because I deal in show and tell..take any of the arab/pakistani/muslim jihadi outfits, ever wonder why they attach god's name or their prophets name to their monikers if their's is a political struggle? It is groups like HezBollah, Jaish e Muhammed etc etc..that invoke religious sentiments as part of their M.o.. If muslims don;t have a problem with allah or mohammed being affiliated with suicide bombings and such then they certainly shouldn't have a problem with non-muslims equating a religion with terrorism.
Oh an christian right militias, also malign their religion, shiv sena also maligns hinduism. Just to pre-empt your second grade parallels that are going to come.
