Saw it today on dvd…
It was just way too much bloodshed. My stomach couldn’t handle it after a while. Personally, I preferred Pulp Fiction way better. This movie on the other hand was not what I had expected.
I watched this lately at a late night prelude showing to the second volume. I like tarantino's movies particularly Jackie B. I'm into the kung fu genre and the whole 60's green hornet/man from uncle stuff but this film sucked the big one.
The fight scenes paid no homage to kung fu movies and were really badly choreographed and unimaginative. I like Uma, but come on they couldn't have picked a more angular cardboardy-motioned actor.
This film also proved a formula in movie quality and furthered my belief of Lucy lui’s inability to pull off any scene without me cringing.
The manga-like sequences ultimately outshone the live action and weren’t particularly original either.
He’s missed the boat, bad luck.
