So in our household, mum is responsible for budget management, savings, expenditure etc and she does a damn good job. Sometimes, she takes it to the extreme though e.g. this morning she was calculating the cost of kitchen foil per meter of the brand she usually buys and the brand that was on sale. Turns out, the brand not on sale was actually cheaper per meter so that’s the one she’s going to buy Dad, on the other hand, would’ve just picked up the first kitchen foil roll he came across in the store. When you add it all up, the savings are substantial. I call it kifayat shuari or careful management of finances. Contrary to Decent bhai’s statement, I think it’s usually the women who have to be kanjoos.
Who overlooks the budget management in your household? If you do so yourself, do you find it tricky/hard?
i don't have a household to manage but alHamdolillah Bhai N Bhai do it very well [in terms of investments] although money is NOT an issue in our household [because we live within our means, maashaa Allah!].
