Kids well visits

So does a 6 year old need a well visit to her doc’s office? The annual check up that is. I think so, but some people said it’s a waste of time.

Re: Kids well visits

No its not, an annual checkup for kids is allways a good idea. That reminds me I have an appoinment in january.

Re: Kids well visits

Most schools require a doc's certificate each year that shows all innoculations up to date, hearing and eye tests and general health info....so its pretty mandatory. A good idea anyway to have an annual physical.

This US government recommended schedule for kids well visits:

**Ages 0-1 (Infancy) **

Well visits at ages 1-2 weeks, and 1, 2, 4, 6, 9, and 12 months.

**Ages 1-4 (Early Childhood) **

Well visits at ages 15, 18, and 24 months, then at 3 and 4 years old.

**Ages 5-21 (Middle Childhood, Adolescence, Young Adult) **

Well visits annually (once every year).

Re: Kids well visits

Yeah, that's what I thought. Why were they telling me to chill and wait for a couple of years?

Who is they? I hope its not a medical professional. I think its a good idea to get child checked out annualy at well-visits. (Just to ensure everything is going well in terms of growth/health.eating...etc....

Re: Kids well visits

oh not sure if this is off topic but when did you 1st take your child to the dentist for a checkup?

Re: Kids well visits

Afro, "they" are some friends!

My older one had her first dental visit at 3 but the younger one went at 2 and a half, a few weeks ago.

Re: Kids well visits

definitely should have regular annual check ups
in fact I am going to book Noor's soon....they usually give dates that are months out.
