I have never understood this concept in Pakistan. Doesnt matter if you have some celebrity, head of state or any one. Every retard that has a bit of money is given atleast one little boy who is pulled off the streets washed , dressed up a litttle bit and given flowers from the neighborhood yards. Plus he/she is asked to act all cute. I dont get this assholishness. Any explinations?

Joke aside, it's a phenomenon that despots..dictators...tyrants use to soften their image. Its a common occurance in places which are deemed to be undemocratic or tyranical. Its a photo op designed to show an innocent, harmless regime, nothing more.

I was once that little cute pretty boy handing out a guldasta to the chief minister of NWFP back in the late 70s. I still have that picture. That was the last time they made me do that because I did something stupid while handing the guldasta to the wife of the CM. I thinksomeone pushed me in the mele and my hands ended up on her bossoms.
