i may be old fashioned, but isnt swearing infront of your kids just wrong? I personally believe, swearing is wrong full stop, but infront of kids is just bad..
whats worst is, when parents call their kids “lil sh**s”
like what is that? ur cool if u call ur kids that or tell them that they are one? what are u teaching ur kids? that its completely ok to swear? what if the kid turns around one day and calls u that?
when we first moved to Australia… i remember only ever giving us one lecture before starting school… “never to say shut up, shurrup (the aussie way) and get lost”
when i moved schools in grade 6, i picked up bad words from my friends.. i remember the only one time i said the ‘F’ word, and a family friend dobbed on me.. it was horrid! i was like 12 hahaha…
i dont think im sworn since then…
i have friends who have kids.. and they tell me “i dont know where my girls pick up these words” and im just like :halo:… you!
its not just black parents or gore laug… i see paki’s doing it … and yeah its not just parents they pick it up from, its tv and the kids they hang out with at school…
the saddest thing was seeing a 3 yr old say ‘F’… shudder
well yeah its like telling them "beta jhoot nahi boltay...jhoot ganday bachay boltay hain" and then the phone rings and u pick it up and say "abbu uncle akram ka phone hai" and abbu says in a whisper" unn ko bolo abbu gher per nahi hai"
gotta practice what u preach....when parent ask kids to stop swearing they gotta stop swearing among themselves and with other adults too....
As far as this is concerned. Words are words. I like to cuss cause I like the way some of the words sound when you say them. Also, there are so many more important things you should be teaching your kids and worrying about. Presuming that you know best how to raise someone elses kids should be the least of our worries.
I think we should think more carefully about every word we use rather than just focusing on the curse words. Yes it is bad when someone swears but look deeper, its usually not what the person meant to say ...its just the careless selection of words......n at times its just like a reflex action
IMHO we should focus more on careful selection of words like I always tell my kids to say 'I don't like it' or 'I dislike it' instead of 'oh i hate it'
