Do you take your kids to fancy restaurants, where kids are allowed and they do have high chairs but the lighting is low and people are dressed well and speak in soft voices
How do they behave there?
Usually when we eat out, we go to a very kid friendly place like Zoupa or the like, but we have taken our little ones to classy restaurants as well. I was a bit tensed in case my younger one decides to throw a tantrum. She did fine and played with her silverware and napkin for some time. She did get restless and wanted to walk around and say hi to everyone . I really had to keep her distracted with paper and pens and other stuff from my purse
Obviously, I dont have kids and am not married yet...lol. BUT Ive been to fancy places with my niece and she is such a handful! She says hi to all the waiters, anyone who passes by and wants to play with any other kid she sees in the restaurant...in fact she starts calling them "hi baby dullll" = Hi Baby Girl. She wants to place her own order even though she is only 2 (Mashallah). Its tough to control her - very hyper kid Mashallah - and sometimes my BIL and sis really have to work hard to keep her distracted. LOL.
My daughter is totally non-social kind and always starts screaming when she sees strange faces around.. Its been ages we went to any decent place for dinner
But I am hoping someday we will…
Maybe after next 4-5 yrs
My son is way too hyperactive. We also do kid friendly restaurants sometimes, or very often just take out :) I haven't taken my son to a fancy restaurant since he was a baby. He wants to wander around, and see everything...very very inquisitive. Hmm. We leave him with my parents when we have to be out at some event, or wanna go out for a ice dinner.
I usually don't take my girls to "fancy schmacy" places. There are some occasions where I HAD to like my sister's law school graduation and I went fully equipped with a bag full of markers, puzzles, anything that would keep them still. They still were restless and I had to take them outside for a bit.
We do go out to family style resturants and they still like to walk around and observe other kids.
I always keep water glasses away from them (so they don't spill them).
