Kidney Stone

Anyone ever have one? I thought my appendix tore.

Re: Kidney Stone

ouch, thank god no.
how are ya doing now?

Re: Kidney Stone

I'm fine, the pain woke me up a few days ago, I thought it was my appendix as I wasn't familure with the pain so I went and got a CT scan which thankfully showed it to be a stone and not the appendix. The pain subsided but nothing as of yet and no further pain and I'm functioning normally in all regards so I'm not sure what the deal is.

Re: Kidney Stone

u mean u have not passd the stone yet?

Re: Kidney Stone

My dad was having this problem. buddy go for the operation.

Re: Kidney Stone

Afraid not. As it moves through the system it's painful as well and that is what I felt.

Re: Kidney Stone

Oh man, if you have not passed the stone, you are due for more pain.

Supposed to be one of the most crippling pains one can experience. Oww.

Most stones are diet related, but they can be broken up by sonic shock waves that is like a precise kick in the kidneys.

Not fun, hope you are well dude.

Re: Kidney Stone

So I've heard OG. Like anyone, I don't like pain but as long as I know it's not causing further injury (the thing causing pain) I'm ok with it. Short term discomfort that doesn't hurt when you think about it later on.

Re: Kidney Stone

uh drink ALOT of water

Re: Kidney Stone

not sure which is worse, the appendix or the kidney stone. At least with the appendix you can get it removed for once and for all. I would say kidney stones are worse. My bro-in-law had em and went through hell cos of the pain and even now he has to drink tons of water to keep his kidneys clean.

Re: Kidney Stone

Ouch.

Hope you feel better and that it doesn't cause too much trouble.

Re: Kidney Stone

I had two in two years and they are painful, very painful. Hope you get rid of it soon.

Re: Kidney Stone

I hope you feel better soon.Get them removed asap either by taking medication or surgery.and drink lot of water.

Re: Kidney Stone

sonic waves is the way to go from what I hear

Re: Kidney Stone

yikes,

Re: Kidney Stone

make sure to have a urine culture and urine electrolyte studies , in some cases stones are recurrent or related to infection.

as mentioned the ESWL "sonic waves" is the best way to break them up

Re: Kidney Stone

sorry to hear that.

Does anyone know whats the reason for kidney stones formation? what kind of diet causes it?

Re: Kidney Stone

It depends what kind of stone it is. The most common are due to excess salt.

Adding lots of fluid always helps. 10 glasses a day dilutes most minerals.

Re: Kidney Stone

I have pains frequently...mostly twinges...in the belt area...what that could be...

Re: Kidney Stone

^^ A pain in the ass area? That would be a Lajawab. There is no cure...
