Weeks before Nazi troops abandoned Rome, Adolf Hitler personally ordered the SS to kidnap the then pope so he could be brought back to Germany and locked up in a castle, according to previously unpublished testimony made available at the weekend.
Archbishop abducted in north Iraq
An Catholic archbishop in the northern Iraq city of Mosul has been kidnapped, the Vatican says.
Archbishop Basile Georges Casmoussa, 66, was abducted from outside his church in the east of the city.
With due respect, the comparison between an organized military force of a world power (Germany) and rag-tag militias involved in rebel gureilla warfare just does not fly. The people fighting in Iraq are killing/kidnapping/harming anyone whom they feel will futher their cause. I bet if they get hold of a muslim cleric who they feel is helping US forces, they will kidnap him too. Don't take the abduction of the archibishop personally.

MOSUL, Iraq - A Catholic archbishop kidnapped in northern Iraq was freed Tuesday after one day in captivity and said his abductors did not intend to target the church.
No ransom was paid to win the release of Archbishop Basile Georges Casmoussa, 66, of the Syrian Catholic Church, a branch of the Roman Catholic Church, the church said. Casmoussa, an Iraqi, lives in the northern city of Mosul.
“I’m happy to have returned to the bishop’s office,” Casmoussa told Vatican Radio. "I can say that I wasn’t mistreated. “I think that my kidnapping was a coincidence. It doesn’t seem to me that they wanted to strike at the church per se.”

Desibanda, you are wrong. In fact all dictatorial ideologies are similar to each other in infrastructure and behavior. Nazism, Communism or Islamic States, there is not much difference.
Question is very simple, do not many Muslim States patronize terrorism, kidnapping etc? And how the Islamic society behaves over such incidents? Starting from shouting of ‘design’, to justifying killings for the sake of ‘revenge’?
