There is a new culture of having multiple-wives emerging and spreading fast reducing women to household SLAVES. Men are becoming more & more manly & the manifestation is this trend.
I am not talking about MEN marrying for the SECOND time with Their First Wifes’ FULL Ready & WILLING CONSENT. I talk about the second marriages without the consent of the first wives, against their wishes.
Men marry for the second or third time while the first wife / first two wives is/are alive. For what reason? No need to tell anyone if they can GAG the earlier one / ones.
This trend among politicians has recently come to broad daylight because of the elections.
In life, many pose as progressives & guardian-angels of womenfolks & never fail to harangue on the dais & among others about EQUALITY OF MEN & WOMEN & the need for 33 percent RESERVATION for women in the legislature & Parliament. BUT CHARITY DOESN’T BEGIN AT THEIR HOMES!
There are thousands & thousands of RICH & POWERFUL moneyed & FRAUDULENT persons (cine heroes reign supreme) having two & more wives illegally while the first wife is alive resigned to her pitiable lot suffering the lifelong ignominy & insult in silence.
This is just the visible part (tip of the iceberg) of the INJUSTICE to women.
As per the law, I learn, the aggrieved wife/ wives must make a complaint in writing to proceed against the violators.
In this society how can any wife come up against the Rich having POWER? The violators STIFLE the free voice of their first wives making them, ‘vaayillaa jeevangaL’ & threaten them into lifelong submission as if they were their SLAVES. And they march on to tie the knots around as many necks as they please. nithya kalyaanam! Medals.
Why shd. the law insist on wife making a complaint? iru thaara, muthaara manam sattappadi kutRam nnaa oru dhaNdanai kodukka vaeNdiyadhu thaanae? Let them legally divorce the first wife before marrying the second. Why anyman should have two or more wives? Would the society allow the equality to women?
Is it not a GRAVE INJUSTICE against the women folk?
What are the Women’s Associations, etc etc doing? Do they accept this kind of treatment & injustice? Are they hand in glove with the powerful violators? Why don’t they rise against women husband-stealers as well?
Why then they talk about relatively less-harmful DOWRY against which the bride has every chance to reject the alliance? idhellaam dhisai thiRuppuRa vaelaI. Think for a moment: What will you feel if this happens to some women in our family? Do we just sit back & rue silently?
Let’s address ourselves to this serious Injustice against WOMEN.
