Khwaja’s son to file murder case against Hamid Mir-TV anchor

I can’t wait to see HM going to jail for murder & I have no doubt that he was at least indirectly involved in KK’s death.

LAHORE: The mystery story about a murder and its possible linkages with an alleged conversation between a well-known television anchor and a militant commander about a former Inter-Services Intelligence official has taken another twist.
On Wednesday, the family of Khalid Khwaja, the ISI official who was kidnapped by a militant group in the Tribal Areas in late March and subsequently killed, declared their intentions of getting a case registered against the television anchor, Hamid Mir.

“We will be first going to the police and also to the Supreme Court in a few days’ time to get a case registered against Mir for being instrumental in the murder of my father by Punjabi Taliban,” Osama Khalid, son of Khalid Khwaja, told Dawn by telephone on Wednesday.

Khalid Khwaja’s wife was a bit more circumspect in her remarks. She confirmed to Dawn that the family was consulting a group of three lawyers as to what legal course could be adopted to book the killers of her husband.

“It is a very sensitive issue for us. We don’t want to take any action in haste. Even right now my son has gone to meet our lawyers,” she said when asked whether they had decided to lodge a formal FIR with police.

Khalid Khwaja, another ISI official Colonel Imam and British journalist Asad Qureishi were kidnapped on March 26 when they were on their way to Waziristan apparently to make a documentary film on Taliban. Khwaja was shot dead on April 30 while the other two men are still in the custody of militants. A group called Asian Tigers claimed responsibility for the kidnappings as well as Khwaja’s killing.

A couple of weeks after the murder, an explosive audio tape in which a militant commander was said to be engaged in a conversation with a journalist surfaced on the Internet. Those who released the tape cautioned listeners against jumping to conclusions but hinted that the journalist could be well-known anchor Hamid Mir.

In the tape the ‘journalist’ is heard accusing Khwaja of being a CIA agent and of working for Ahmedis as also of having played a ‘dirty’ role in the Lal Masjid episode in July 2007. Mir has described the tape as ‘doctored’, ‘concocted’ and being a ‘part of a larger game to malign’ him. On Tuesday, his lawyer sent a legal notice to a newspaper and a television channel for running news items based on the audio tape.

In his talk with Dawn on Wednesday, Khalid Khwaja’s son said he also recognised the second voice on the audio tape. “It belonged to Usman Punjabi alias Umer. I recognised his voice as he had spoken to me five or six times during the period when my father was in (militants’) captivity,” he said.

“I have the call record (of that conversation between the journalist and the militant),” Osama said. “The call was made on April 19 and the video of my father’s confessional statement released to media on April 23. This is enough evidence for me.”

Osama maintained that during the time his father was in captivity, Usman Punjabi had also contacted other journalists apart from Mir to have their ‘views’ about his father.

“These journalists will be on our side in the court,” he said as he appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan to hold a judicial inquiry into the matter to “find out the truth”.

Re: Khwaja’s son to file murder case against Hamid Mir-TV anchor

Unnecessary drama being caused by Khwaja's son. Hamid meer didnt murder his father, infact if he goes out claiming HM got his father killed , then he is equally responsible for the killing , coz one day before the killing, one of the reporters wo works on taliban , called this family and told them to take a few steps to save their father coz it was more then sure that taliban would kill Khwaja .. but his son didnt take any action and considered the call a bluff !!!!

The killers are taliban or whoever claims the responsibility for it ... the rest is just propaganda and drama and holds no value!

Yes. Mir's allegations against Khwaja may have resulted in Taliban executing him, but Mir did not suggest himself to murder him.
What this episode showed is that Mir has high influence on Taliban activities. He has their trust. So Mir is like a Taliban spokesman on television.
He needs to be interrogated for his links to Taliban and stop being a TV anchor.

Funny part is that Taliban supporters consider Khwaja and Mir to be "shaheed" and "patriotic Pakistani" respectively in the same breath.

Re: Khwaja’s son to file murder case against Hamid Mir-TV anchor

Guilty or not, Hamid Mir is definitely one of the most corrupt journalist in Pakistan and I will be happy if he gets any punishment.

It is not only HM alone their whole network and publishing house is busy to do everything against stability of Pakistan.

Re: Khwaja’s son to file murder case against Hamid Mir-TV anchor

Well we can now take one more step and accuse Mush for killing of khawaja.

Better to start with father of Taliban and "Najaiz Baqiat of Sardar ul Munafiqeen Abdullah Ibne Ubee" Zia

yes, and ullu ka patha ghadaar-e-pakistan ghaddari is the savior

Re: Khwaja’s son to file murder case against Hamid Mir-TV anchor

I really want to see Zaid Hamid implicated in this

As much as you Zaliman hate him, some of his achievements have been really remarkable. You can call him by any name, but he has done a lot more for Pakistan than Ameerul Munafiqeen Nawaz or Zia.

Hating Zardari

Why you are defending such a person is probably because you are related in some way to him or his party or you have benefited from his government.

Otherwise, defending Zardari is a funny thought for most people in Pakistan (even PPP supporters).

Nice read. Though almost impossible to know if the writer’s claims about Zardari’s achievements are real. We read similar stories about economic boom during Mush’s time only to find out later to our utter dismay that it was nothing but bust!!

Bold move but he prolly gonna end up dead or* lapatta* some how.

That's the point of that article. It is fashionable to abuse Zardari. Even my own family believes all the rumors against him coming from sources that start with: "My friend said that...".
I can't defend a corrupt politician. All I am saying is that he is as corrupt as any one else. And that despite hateful propaganda against him from Nawaz supporters, his presidency has achieved results and has not been a total failure.

But this discussion is not the topic of thread. I only posted it when Spock started abusing him by calling names.

He can be charged with conspiracy to murder...or at least minimum I hope KKs family sues him and his company for civil damages.

I don't know what his achievements are but he deserves EVERY but of criticism. I would have have looked into his achievements if he accepted all the corruption and money laundering, apologised to the nation and brought all the money back.
Even Nawaz $harif had many achievements (much more than Zardari) but i hate him because he hasn't accepted anything since returned to the country. He has his own agenda and hasn't talked about many important issues, supported lawyers ONLY for himself and hasn't done/said anything POSTIVE since he returned except the demands of Musharaff's trial.

What achievements??

Re: Khwaja’s son to file murder case against Hamid Mir-TV anchor

He is not a Savior. But his record is not abysmal, as most people would have hoped to see when someone as "hateful" as Zardari becomes president.

...

Edit:
Ok. I think I am being dragged in another direction which is in no way related to the thread's topic. So I deleted my reply.

He is not alone. Must see this how they talk. How they speak on behalf of army and judiciary. Is there anyone to ask them how they are doing this all.Meray Mutabiq – 22 May 2010

.And you can also see today’s episode also where he is saying that court is going to decide against the government and saying that there could be anything worst in the country.
Who is behind him ?

Can one accuse a dead man of a murder happening decades after his death? :D

Hamid Mir and the 'other journalist' have links with Taliban. If our government is doing nothing about it, the western gods are rightly telling us to 'do more'.
