There is a huge surge and increase in second marriages / Islamic marriages and co-wives in the UK… The growing trend is very worrying. Many guys are going abroad also to countries such a Morocco to get a second and third wife.

Interesting. So do they keep it a secret or they inform their first wives?

It is because it is considered taboo and if at all a second marriage has to be done,there has to be valid reasons.Under no circumstances,a person will be granted the permission for a second marriage on the basis of a secret affair.

What about keeping first marriage a secret?

Just came into my mind, ‘kanyadan’ is an important factor in Hindu marriages. In the presence of such concepts, how come a traditional Hindu marriage (not court marriage) can be kept a secret?

My understanding of Kanyadan is that parents of both groom and bride to be involved. Though Muslim Nikah also requires permission of wali of bride…
