ashie Islamabad/giki used to have them quite often, only once have I experienced a comparable earthquake.
even this is very small, i think maybe 5 or so on the scale. I cant imagine what the real thing must be like.
now all sorts of fear mongerings going on. someone mentioned that since these are coastal areas, theres a chance of tsunami. ergh, too much awareness.

While I was speaking to my mom, she mentioned that thousands of people were out of their homes yesterday in Dhoraji Coloni/Bahadurabad area in fear of Earthquake rumor or something. Is this true?

I still havent heard of the earth quake you mentioned in Karachi, the richter scale 5 in Balochistan was a few hours ago, so yours cant be the same.

asif.. thats way on the other side of town. Im told there was another earthquake about three hours ago, but we didnt feel it here.
this one originated in the coastal areas of seaview clifton and defence, and was very small and local (scale of 4), didnt stretch till bahadurabad.
at the same time, everyones on edge, so I wouldnt be surprised.

KARACHI: Tremors felt in Defence and Clifton

KARACHI: Advisor to Sindh Chief Minister on Information and Archives Salahuddin Haider late Tuesday night said that Defence View and Clifton experienced tremors of light intensity.
He appealed to the masses not be afraid of these tremors and remain calm.

KARACHI: Defence View and Clifton areas of Karachi felt tremors of light intensity on late Tuesday night but these were not linked to Saturday’s earthquake, which rattled several parts of the country.
Advisor to Sindh Chief Minister on Information and Archives Salahuddin Haider also confirmed that Defence View and Clifton experienced tremors of light intensity.
