This part stood out for me. Like firenze here, we pride ourselves on being liberal while blaming all the mullahs and the extremism for the failings of Pakistan. Over a cup of Gloria Jeans coffee we bemoan our intolerant qaum and our useless leaders. Being liberal in Pakistan only means being non-religious and therefore ‘tolerant’. The ‘liberals’ do not care if their wealth, privileges and status in society have come as a result of robbing the nation and its poor. We don’t pay our taxes, we use references to land the jobs of more deserving people, we use our high contacts to land the lucrative business opportunities…

TRUE. Somehow we absolve ourselves of all responsibilities while bashing everything that is wrong with the country.
