if ur coming from Islamabad, Lahore, Faisalabad etc. best bet would be by motorway and coming off at Lilla Interchange. Salt mines are 25 km from there.

Infact, there is a great way to move if ur coming/going on the motoway by taking this interchange - spend few hours at the mines and take a road right from the mines towards Choa Sedan Shah(amazing drive) and pass teh choa Sedan Shah town and hit the famous Katas Temples.. spend some time there and continue the road for further 15 km to get to Kalar Kahar lake.. enjoy some time there and join the motorway again from that point..

Take Pind dadaan Khan/Lilla Exit on M2.from there Mines are 30 KM.follow the signs and road will take you directly to the mines
