What is the difference between Kheer and Firni ?

Always wondered the same, I think firni is a smoother texture than kheer.

Kheer has coarse rice in it while Fireenii has finer rice which gives Kheer a coarser and Fireenii a smoother texture.

basmati rice is never used. instead, patna rice is best for Kheer. basmati rice is too soft.

^ yes, firni is made with fine ground grains of rice whereas kheer is a bit thicker in texture because the rice is not so finely grounded.
