oh i remember reading few like sum1 got me digests saying they r pretty good and i’ll read anything so i read em too. and they r like worst thing on this planet i was like whoa! yaar lapaito lapaito ziada lambi ho gayi. such drama and unrealistic happenings and they r supposed to be close to real lives of women? i discovered the secret weapon for creating an army of teenage aunties u knw shudders
reading those novels is like watchig crappy bollywood movies or soaps without sound effects
I read a few of them (dont remember which ones) when I went to Pakistan and the stories were pretty interesting. However my aunts there wouldn't allow me to read these digests saying they were 'bad'. I sneaked in a few back home but they are just sitting here since years.
wow! well. khawateen is THE BEST out there. I read these A LOT when I was younger, that went on for a few years. I was obsessed with them , but grew out of them i guess, But ONE positive effect they had was help me improve my Urdu which was weak.
Also khwateen is good bcoz its helped launch a lot of female writers, Umera Ahmed being the glowing example here. Also the short stories and novels are really mature now, well most of them are, but I HATE ALL THE COVER PAGES, EACH AND EVERYONE OF THEM, they're really unclassy and cakey makeup, artificial, tacky jewellery and all that.
i LOVED them. khawateen and shua are the best.
i know some stories are stupid but so what. they are good entertainment for me. better than tv atleast. with the help of those digest my urdu improved. and to be honest, i learned a lot of things from them.
