here there is a site of Amrkhaled , i dont know if you know him, he is a very good egyptian scholar, he talk and explain well islam with simplicity, for poeple here who understand arabic it will be easy for them to see his videos on youtube , or his site :amrkhaled.net
but you can also click on LANGUAGES in the menu then u find in many languages translation of many programms he presented in every ramadan and other days.
this ramadan he is talking about the story of the prophet moossa, its really great , even if we read it before in quran its not like the way he present it and he even visited the real places where was sayiduna moossa !!! its great to see thoses places !!!
OTHER THING IMPORTANT, we all muslims we try to do many khatm of quran, plz for those who already read all quran this ramadan plz .

oh yea amarkhaled is good btw.. i ve not listened to many of his talks or anthing .. but like ou saiod .. the stuff he talks abou is gurantee to uplift your spirit ..
hwever, i ve been here in egypt past 3 years.. he aint that famous in egypt .. not that i ve come across many pl who quote him or anything .. hwever outside of egypt like arab countries . i ve heard.. he s made good impression ..
i do NOT agree with what u just said. Khat-ul-Qur'aan carries rewards for the reader or he could send the reward to some one else is ok. my sticking point is the announcement and asking to read a certain number. there is no tradition of this kinda activity. Its called Bid'a and all bid'a is a serious gunaah. thank you. i can read as much as i want [correctly and inculcate in me what i learn from Qur'aan] Mey Allah gives us all hidaayat. aameen

there is a forum which organize something to encourage muslims to do khatm of quran( u know how much ajr in this) , the goal is not how many khatm, its only encouragement to read it and to feel it , but they wish that 10 millions poeple or 1O millions khatm are registred this ramadan . thats all , i dont think there is something wrong in that , no bid3a , we didnt say : u must do 3 or 4 khatm then u will be good muslims, i know what is bid'a Allah protect us from it ! u can visit the site to understand more!
just simple example : imagine u and ur family u organize something for Allah , like u tell them for ex : lets pray tonight 20 rak'at for Allah!
u dont say : if u pray 20 then u enter jannat , but u encourage them, u do something together for Allah
