khajoor

khajoor jo sooji say bantay hain i need recipe for that…

Re: khajoor

Ingredients
•1 cup semolina or suji
•2 cups warm water
•A few strands of saffron
•A few drops of liquid yellow food colour
•3/4 cup clarified butter or ghee
•250 gm. sweetened condensed milk or Mawa
•A greased flat tray or plate.
•1 tbs. chopped pistachios or almonds

Directions
1.Add saffron and food colour to the water and stir. Keep aside.
2.Heat the ghee in a pan and fry the semolina until it turns golden brown and an aroma of roasting semolina rises.
3.Turn heat down and add the water to the semolina and keep stirring so as to avoid lumps forming. If you have the heat too high, semolina will bubble and splash and you may burn yourself.
4.Add condensed milk and continue stirring until the mixture begins to come off the sides of the pan.
5.Put on a greased plate and when cooled cut into the desired shapes.

(I didnt try this, aik website say li hay)

Re: khajoor

my family's recipe to make khajoorein is ( i don't measure, just eyeball everything) to mix maida, ghee, and sugar and knead it into a dough...then roll it out and cut diamond shaped khajoorein out of it...then fry in hot oil till they turn golden brown....trick is not to add too much or too little ghee.. you would have to sort of gauge the right consistensy.they turn out really yummy everytime...
