What’s so good about Khaadi? (and Sana Safina for that matter) I don’t get it…
It’s grossly overpriced when the material isn’t that good… I’ve seen I think two or three of the top brands here use this mesh material that’s really coarse… definitely uncomfortable. It’s like wearing a potato sack.
I think I’m not looking at the right section or stores… D: Need to go with a desi woman who can tell me which ones look good.
I don't get the SS hype either for the most part but Khaadi is heavily priced for a reason, and that is the quality of their outfits. You can't judge the quality without using the product or having good knowledge about fabrics and embroideries. I have been buying, wearing, roughly using, washing, Khaadi clothes for almost a decade now and the quality and durability is excellent. If you don't like the designs or materials it's a personal choice, don't buy it, buy what you like. That will not change the fact that Khaadi is a popular, adequately hyped, homegrown, high street, high in demand only Pakistani brand with standalone stores in malls abroad!

I agree, I have a few clothes from them and they are good stuff .. but definitely over priced :(
Raania, you seem to have good knowledge of fabrics , please tell me what is this Cambric stuff? does it need constant starching like Lawn ?
Cb if you catch their sales, they often have flat 20-30 and recently had a 50 percent discount! Also recently they have managed to release clothes for a variety of price points, e.g. Single shirts, 2 pieces etc.
CAmbric is cotton, doesn't need starching for good quality stuff. It's a bit thicker than lawn, perfect for Pakistani autumn esp. With a light shawl.
Few months back I got shirts from khaadi, nishat, and unknown shop. The khaadi and nishat stuff is fabulous, the quality of fabric, stitching, and designs too. The stitching of the unknown/no big brand name shop was so so, the stitching was pretty awful. I wear khaadi nishat stuff very frequently, it is very comfortable and I have no issues with washing them with other clothes.
