Key candidate quits Sudan polls

**The main opposition candidate in Sudan’s presidential election, Yassir Arman, says he is pulling out.**The announcement was made by the vice-chairman of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM).

Riek Machar blamed the continued conflict in the Darfur region and “electoral irregularities”.

Party leader Salva Kiir earlier told the BBC he was against boycotting the 11 April poll and correspondents say this could indicate an SPLM split.
