The comic value of this scenario is a 10 on a scale of 10. First, the guy does not want that job. He is just waiting for his kids to get into college or something so he can run for presidency. He does not want to become a speaker ‘dirty’ himself with the nutcases. All he wanted to do was quietly build a resume by being the chairman of Ways and Means Committee and distinguish himself. So when Boehner made his announcement 2 weeks ago, Ryan was like ‘don’t look at me!’. And Republicans were like, ’ we ain’t’.
Now 2 weeks later they all are begging him to become the speaker. Unify the party. Lay down your ambitions for the party. Now that Dr. Ben Carson managed to offend the Jews with his stupidity, I was waiting to see how it will affect his ratings. Now with this speaker of the house drama, people will forget, at least for this weekend, how idiotic GOP presidential field is.
