KESC has been privatized. K.E.S.C was a very good company and its performance quite good in 60s. During 70s despite unnecessary large scale political appointments without any real need of manpower its performance remained generally satisfactory. However mid 80s when Ziaul Haq created MQM a mafia entered into the corporation and all of a sudden kunda system and meter rigging started graph breaking every passing day. Ghost workers first time entered in KESC this time. Every subsequent move of Corporation’s new Head or of government failed due to blackmailing of this Mafia. This mafia is so powerful that even the Military executives could do nothing. Though it was often claimed that Military executives in KESC improved the working but real fact is during military executives rule kunda system more spread. During military rule the government offices and colonies started using kunda system. Garden East Police Headquarters ACs unofficially installed in offices and flats of very low paid policemen and officers colony Garden East are the example. Reducing losses repeatedly claimed during military executives is just another lie. These reducing losses in are only due to pumping of finance by the government as happened in PIA. Some circles have shown satisfaction and pleasure on privatization. But point is what for is this pleasure? Rather we should feel shame that despite having Ehtisabs, N.A.Bs, graduate assemblies, military rule, claims of reducing corruption all at huge national cost, finally we have accepted our negligence that we can not run this national organization and what yearly we had been telling the nation about improvement was just another cruel joke with the people. This is also an official admission that our army is today failure in civil affairs. All these false foundations of 12 billion reserves, economy improvement, this and day one day in minutes will get down.
