Kerry should stop being a comedian. His ambigious jokes are not getting the right kind of publicity Dems need now.
Re: Kerry The Comedian
It was a genius move in the sense it gave him mre air time to bash bush and that limbaugh.
Re: Kerry The Comedian
:k: go kerry
Re: Kerry The Comedian
No mention of a single joke since the first post.... Wow, the topics here are focused like a laser. :)
In other news, this controversy has helped Bush in the polls, which means he has gone from overpowering hate to just general hate.
Re: Kerry The Comedian
Kerry needs to learn who his audience are!
Re: Kerry The Comedian
its amazing that only thing bush and cheney can find to attack him on is the joke, while they fully know that they are twisting it to sound like something he did not mean, very very weak.
Re: Kerry The Comedian
Kerry with this joke and than semi to complete regreting and apologizing just ruined a much needed come back in the fall. He said in an interview to Bill Maher that he will decide on whether to run for office next year, with this I do not know. How can a person who fought in a war, stood up against a corrupt and incompetent government and help stop a war in his youth could be so weak in this matter. I mean it is so silly that a joke and little spin politics can bring a man to his knees like that.
Re: Kerry The Comedian
Because its a joke that is apparently offending anyone that supports the boys fighting in Iraq.
And keep in mind, so many people have been deployed off to these wars, that most people are related to a soldier or know one or knows someone who knows a soldier. So, I guess the comments hit home when you know that people you know are being insulted in their intelligence.
Although, I have to say, I agree with Kerry. If are in college, they're not going to pull you out to go to war. The kids who go into the military often do so for scholarships, etc, and those are the kids who weren't smart enough to get into a college on their own and pay for it.
But even among them, you'll have your IVY leaguer's etc who are using the military to pay their way through college. But I think that's a rarity. I remember getting massive phone calls from recruiters when I was in high school - they wanted me in intelligence, and support work. The recruiters were pretty anxious to get me, and I'm supposing there are way more dumb people who apply for the military than smart ones.
I was even thinking about it, because my parents weren't willing to pay for my education. Instead, I settled for a no-namer school where I was getting a full scholarship. But, I know lots of people in my graduating group who were smart and did go into the miliatry for the scholarship money.
I could have been one of those stupid kids Kerry was referring to. But I have to say. If you're in a war, and you don't know why you're there, and you're still fighting it, you've gotta be a little stupid. Even if you are using it to pay for Harvard.
Re: Kerry The Comedian
It was clearly insulting Bush even though I've heard that Kerry actually botched it, but just us talking about this exactly what the Republicans wanted.
Re: Kerry The Comedian
**Perfect Example of "Doobtay ko tinkay ka sahara"...:) **
Re: Kerry The Comedian
The thing that surpirses me the most is that people in America, both public and media care so much about these things. Like their leader is running for American Idol rather Presidency. I mean looking at past Presidents, only Kenedy and Clinton may win the popular vote on American Idol with their personalities. Others are so so...either way it is not like with this so called controversy and spin politics, Kerry is not going to make a good President but it matters because it were the spin and dirty politics of Swift Boat commericals that cost him the election in '04.
Re: Kerry The Comedian
Its amazing how they twisted the joke, I agree. Its like if you say it enough times you and everyone else will start believing it.
Re: Kerry The Comedian
Bush knows his constituents and never over estimates their wit nor their aptitute for geo-politics, Kerry does. If you believe Mr. Kuo, then people in the administration deride their x-ian 'base'. Tells you who's the better politician of the two.
