Girl’s Feet Severed During Ride At Six Flags
(CBS) LOUISVILLE, Ky. A young girl’s feet were cut off Thursday in a gruesome accident at the Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom theme park in Louisville when a ride malfunctioned.
The incident happened on a free-fall ride called the “Superman Tower of Power,” which is 177 feet tall and drops riders at 54 mph.
A witness described to WLKY-TV what he saw as he was watching his kids on the ride.
“We (saw) the cable break loose as soon as it got to the top on the right hand side. As the ride came down, the wires swung left.”
Another witness said she talked with a friend about getting on this ride just moments before the accident that detached a girl’s feet at her ankles.
“The lady, she was just sitting there and she didn’t have no legs. She didn’t have no legs at all. She was just there, just calm, probaby in shock from everything.”
“The cable just snapped, and then as it was coming on down, it just snapped again,” she said.
The incident took place just before 5 p.m. ET, according to Six Flags spokeswoman Wendy Goldberg. The ride was shut down while an investigation got under way.
Very disturbing... You go on those rides thinking nothing can go wrong, and then you hear stuff like this...
I heard it was the girls legs, and not her feet... Dont know if they can succesfuly reattach, but hope for the best.
its really sad. and to think i was planning on going to six flags great adventure next weekend, i dont think i wanna go just now...a little iffy about it

I Guess you shd not go out of your house, because there are chances that a comet could strike your left eye resulting in loss of vision.
this contradicts what mythbuster found in their research. They proved that a snapping cable cannot cut a human in half.
Well i guess they got busted this time..
regardless i hope they reattach the feet of that girl.... its just too sad :(
We were planning a trip to Six Flags here in Dallas next week but having second thoughts. Even though chances for something like that to happen are slim but it makes you think twice.
