My company where I work at has a program for employees. Under this program employees can earn an MBA degree at company’s expenses from Kelly School of Business, Indiana University. The program combines distant learning and on campus learning and takes three years to complete.
I want to know how is a degree from this business school perceived by recruiters of Fortune 100 companies ? Is it worth pursuing ?

Re: Kelly School of Business, Indiana University
Thanks for your good wishes but I am not pursuing it yet. I will pursue it only if I get some feed back about the value of the program. Then there is the selection process many employees apply for the program and only a handful are selected I might not get lucky even if I apply.

Whether its worth pursuing or not is a question that only you can answer. Quantitatively the school might be regionally well known however it falls at the borderline of top 20 B-schools.
I am not a recruiter, however when I think of the Midwest: Kellogg, Chicago & Ross come to mind. My firm recruits primarily from these schools. I do believe that depending on the F100 Company (particularly midwest based), an Indiana MBA will be held at a higher regard.
Having your firm pay for business school expenses is a huge plus and should be a great factor in your decision making. I would recommend that you:
- Speak with the career services office at Kelley - Perhaps obtain a placements list.
- Compile a list of F100 firms that you find interesting. Check their recruitment schedules to see if Indiana is listed.
- Doublecheck your tax liability. Depending on the tax reporting structure of your firm, you might be liable on taxes for the education benefits paid by your firm.
All the best! Keep us posted with your decision.
