Kefir halal or not?

I am totally confused regarding kefir. Does anyone know if it is halal to consume the kefir
I have searched the net for my answer, but there are mixed opinions.

Here is a Fatwa regarding it which will help. As a general principle, if something has even a little bit of alcohol in it, it is not permissible, at least according to the school of thought I follow.

Is it possible to become drunk on it?

If yes … then it is most definitely haram

Besides why would anyone want to drink something that sounds like an infidel? :hehe:
