I watched a movie (The Tall Man) about kidnapping the other day and it stated some terrifying stats like 800,000 children are abducted in the US every year and 1000 children vanish without a trace… hair-raising even for a non-parent!
So how do you ensure your childrens’ safety at all times? I’m sure there’s much more to it than simply telling your children not to talk to strangers. I remember I used to make the mistake of dropping my brother’s friends to their homes and driving away before they had stepped inside the door. I realised this was a big no no when his friends’ mother dropped my brother home one night and didn’t leave until she had made sure it was in fact his house and he had safely gotten it. It’s the little things like this that can compromise a child’s safety.
On a similar note, have you ever checked with the local authorities for registered sex offenders in your area? Would you want to know?
