I stay in touch to the extent that I add them to my Linked in network.

I call my ex boss on festivals/occasions. Shes also does the same for me. =)

Clothesmad, I think it largely depends on the level of relationship one had with their boss .. but I feel its good to stay in touch ... from many perspectives , one, some of the really good opportunities came my way coz my ex manager moved to a company and hired me in their team ...

Also , you get to build a professional network of people you have worked with ... it can bring benefits in many ways ...

Agree with CB... it's not about whether you're "friends" with your old bosses. Sometimes, it just makes practical sense to keep in touch. You might want to pursue a consulting gig with your old employer, you might want to recommend a friend for a job there, you might want to avail opportunities for corporate alliances etc.

I can't really say that I "keep in touch", but they're certainly on my radar through LinkedIn, Plaxo, and Twitter...
