Keeping awake

Hell all,

People share tips and trics on how to stay awake for longer (for example if you have late night work to do).

Any food items or activities that give you energy?

Don’t mention drinking coffee or redbull (or any other energy drink), because I don’t drink them.

Thank you.

Re: Keeping awake

How about some jumping jacks every ten min...

Re: Keeping awake

Food.

The longer the tummy grumbles (Digestive system works) the longer you'd be tempted not to sleep. Sugar works the best, because its one of the fastest burning energy that the body wishes to get over and done with the soonest. Not at all recommended though, because it equally lets you put on unnecessary weight, along with other harmful to us reasons (diabetes for one).

Black Coffee, Beef, Casein (Milk, Cheese etc) are a few I could name. Casein can actually keep you up longer considering its slow digestive properties.

Re: Keeping awake

make a noose at one end of the rope and tie the other end to a hook on the roof. place that noose around your neck. that will keep you awake all night  hehe :cb:

Re: Keeping awake

That does sound good. But knowing me I will continue to long with it and be distracted from my actual work.

I do eat, but it makes me more sleepy. Last weekend I ate biryani to stay awake and I got stomach ache XD But maybe I should eat lighter meals.
I do eat sweet things, but even that makes me sleepy. Or I should eat much of it.

That doesnt sound very right and healthy…

Re: Keeping awake

Makes me curious to ask. How long do you wish to keep awake in say the whole day (24 hours)? I ask mainly because, scientifically, the more the lack of sleep, the more the risk of heart failures.

Try Casein. It actually works with me. Exercise on the other hand makes me want to dive into bed like I'm out to swim. No joke.

Re: Keeping awake

^ lol. Well I dont want this to happen each day. But let's say 2-3 times a week till 3 am in the night and then wake up at 6.30 am in the morning. Should not be a big deal if it doesnt happen daily, right?

Re: Keeping awake

Red Bull!!

Re: Keeping awake

That is excruciatingly less. But no, I wouldn't recommend it and you're risking your health. 6 hours at least!

Edit: 6 hours out of 24 and not 48!

Re: Keeping awake

take a nap for 15 to 30 mins it would be enough!

Re: Keeping awake

Did not know that a shortage of sleep can cause heart failures and even diabetis (google).
But Exodus, thanks for your input :k:

Re: Keeping awake

You mean a powernap overday? That makes me so tired. Whenever I wake up after a powernap I feel energyless. Adverse impact :D

Re: Keeping awake

Any tip to put you sleep? :( I can not sleep now a days :(

Re: Keeping awake

^ What the lady said.

Re: Keeping awake

Dude..take fruit salad, dry foods and green tea. Stay away from junk food. Reason i am saying that coz for people who do night shift tend to eat junk food a lot. And btw..that will keep you awake i hope.

Re: Keeping awake

take a warm shower?
eat an apple?
wash your face with cold water?
have adequate lighting in your room?
keep a cool breeze coming in?
take regular breaks?

Re: Keeping awake

I don’t eat junkfood that much so that will not be a problem :k: And as retarded as it sounds, why didnt I come up with the fruit part :k:

Apart from the apple, everything sounds good. Especially the warm shower. Thank you bibi :k:

Alternative: day should have have 36 hours instead of 24 :expressionless:

My eyes start closing when it is only 9 pm
