hey guys hope your all well
I wanted 2know if I cancel the insurance I have on my car can I still keep it on the road? I mean like obviously wont be driving it, it will still have road tax though so will it be ok parked on road? I want 2 sell it .. cant really afford the insurance right now also I don’t even use it much .. I’m living in north west, uk .. please can some one tell me?

thankyou!

I think you need to get a SORN for the car so it’s officially off the road. I’m not sure of the ins and outs but if you’re not keeping it insured/ road worthy then it has to be declared. Bit rubbish but got this link for better info : Vehicle insurance: Uninsured vehicles - GOV.UK

Re: keep car on road without insurance??

I dont think there will be much of problem if you have the road tax and dont drive it. SORN is only required if you keep the car off the road and dont want to get the road tax even.
on the same note, UK now clamping down on cars with no insurance, MOT or road tax.

Re: keep car on road without insurance??

I’m sure you’ll want to get yourself a SORN for your auto it’s the same legally off the street. Now i am not sure on the intricacies however should you be not really maintaining it insured/ street deserving then it has to be reported. Little bit rubbish however acquired this specific website link intended for greater.
