You do not need to peel and put salt on Karelaas.. if you cut them and just fry them (unless you are cooking Qeema bharaY karelaY with thread all around:D) they won’t ever taste bitter…

Well,
I peel them and keep the chilka and fry it seperately and add it in the masala...
Just throw the beej part :p
Yaani, you peel it, then cut in pieces, apply salt keep it in dhoop for 2 hrs.. Then wash them and fry them
For qeema, I add everything onions, tomatoes, ginger garlic, salt mirchain, haldi corriender powder... and put it on flame.. then bhoonafy it... then add extra onions along with karela and its fried chilka and put it on dum for a little while..

yes Sajal this is the addition to onions.i fry one onion and then add raw sliced onions in the end.
and i add laben i.e buttermilk in the end.

ok here is recipe for keem karela,i don't boost about it but it turns out great
keem.......1lb
karela.......4lb
salt,laal mirch............hasbe zaiqa
sookh dhania....1 tsp
haldi.....chutki
oil.......2 salan waale spoons
tomatoes..........2 medium size
onions..............2 small
lehsan paaste........1 table spoon
adrak paste...........1/2 table spoon
First karelay ko kaat ker 4 times plain water mein aur 4 times salt wale water mein achi tarah dhoaiin.then put karelas,keema and all the spices and oil in cooker and get a pressure for about 10 minutes..pressure khol ker achi tarah bhoon lein andd bhunte hoay garam masala ya achaar masal daal dein and it is ready:)

Excellent recipe with slight alteration to sequence of adding karela or even frying them separate but not pressure cooking them..:)

yes i too think so,that qeema and karalay doesnt need to cook in pressure.
