This is a recipe for everyone who likes to eat Naan. I learned it yesterday.
First make the atta of Naan, make with one kilo white flour, some yeast, yoghurt and water, let it rest for a while.
Keema Naan:
Prepare keema, add some onions, tomatos, normal desi masalas, salt, red pepper and green ones, mix all ingredients. You donot have to cook the keema beforehand.
Now take some naan atta and places some amount of keema mix in the middle of it and shape a ball and a round form, like when u make rotis, spread some yoghurt, cream, or egg on the top and place the naan first on the stove and let the one side cook a bit, afterwards put the naan in the oven, best is the oven with grill, you dont need to change the side of the naan, its done in about 5 minutes.
Besan Naan:
Take besan and mix with water, onion, spinach if you like, spices, salt, pepper, here you form the naan and spread the besan mix on the naan after u put it on the stove, let is cook and then in the grill oven.
Saadia, I like the sound of the keema naan, but just wanted to make sure that the mince doesn't need to be cooked beforehand. Are you sure its going to be fully cooked through?
shahreen, if you have the grill type of oven where the hot air is sent through, then you don't need to cook the mince meat before, as cooking will take away the juices where as when not cooked before the naan absorbs all juices and hence makes it softer and tastier.
You mean a fan assisted oven? Have one of those but was just worried in case I end of giving myself food poisoning. But I'll try it your way and see how it goes.
shahreen ya, if you bake the naan till the edges and some parts of it are red then the mince meat should be cooked properly, but you may also pre-cook it a bit before to u be really sure that nothing stays raw.
