Lol..this reminds me a Punjabi idiom..Pakaan laii’ Dhee’an nu wadda gosht teh noo’ah nu chota gosht ( for cooking,let daughters cook beef and daughter-in-laws cook mutton) since mutton always shrinks and they can blame the DIL of either eating up half of it during cooking or messing with it somehow making the final quantity lesser and they can be blamed for the mess as compared to beef which doesn’t shrink on the other hand !
