Kebab Salan ???

I want to make like a kebab dish at home. Like a masalae wala salan type thing. Anyone know how to make it ? I guess you need tomatoes and onions, but how does one make it ? What are the other ingredients and easy follow recipe?

Also what kind of keema to use ? With or without fat ?

Kabab KaRRahi ka tau suuna hay, yay kabab salun kon khatay hain?

well take normal keema…ab fat wala ya without woh nahi pata…:-s

for kofte…
haan to usko wash karke drain karo for 30 mins or so…then add ginger garlic paste and also red chilli and dhaniya and stuff and salt and some besan then make a dough and make small balls and fry them in less oil and keep aside…waise bhi kha sakte hai but control…salan mein daalne ke liye kuch nahi bachega :halo:

okie salan banane ke liye fry couple of onions make them crisp and brown…blend it with curd and a couple of tomatoes..

oil mein ginger garlic daale then add this paste, add the dry masala…the dhaiya, mirch, salt and stuff then add a glass of water and bring to boil…add the fried kebab and let it boil for sometime and bas ho gaya

I have tried Seekh Kabab with gravy in a few places.

Here is one recipe I found while searching.

Ingredients:
½ kg or 500 gms lean mutton cut into 1 inch pieces
10 small onions (small button onions)
8-10 wooden skewers (4-5 inch long)
16-20 pieces of sliced ginger

Ingredients for Marinating Kababs:
80 gms grated onions
1 desp. coriander powder
1 tsp. ground poppy seed
½ tsp. ground ginger
1 tbsp. salad oil
1 tsp. salt
6-8 pieces of finely chopped garlic
1 tsp. turmeric
½ tsp. garam masala
½ tsp. red pepper
225 gms thick curd
A pinch of grated nutmeg

Ingredients for the Curry:
80 gms or 15 tsps. ghee
½ tsp. red pepper
4 cloves
6 flakes of garlic
60 gms grated onions
3-4 cardamoms
A 2 inch piece of cinnamon
½ tsp. roasted black cumin seeds
½ tsp. salt

**Ingredients for Garnishing: **

Shred 2 green chillies and cut the coriander leaves into fine pieces.

**Method **

Cut the mutton into 1 inch squares and leave them in the kabab marinade for 2 hours. Remove the meat pieces from the marinade and put them on the wooden skewers alternately - ginger, meat pieces and then onions. This process is to be repeated leaving the end of the skewer clear.

Heat the ghee and fry the Kababs while they are still on the skewers, 3-4 at a time, till they become light brown in colour. Remove from the ghee, then add grated onions and garlic to the ghee and fry them till they turn brown. Add ½ tsp red pepper, ½ tsp salt, cardamoms, cloves, cinnamon and the left over marinade masala and fry it till the ghee separates from the masala. Then add the fried stick Kabab, stir for a few minutes and add about 225 gms hot water.

Simmer till the meat is tender or cook for 10-15 mts on a low flame.

it’s the tastiest thing on earth, thank God that I can make it well :yummy:

u dont need the recipe anymore…

we make seekh kabab salan dishes at home all the time..my mom wanted to make something different and she did..and now we have all sorts of dishes of seekh kabab...

you can have the seekh kabab with seekh kabab masala or your regular kofta style masala..make the shape long and fry it..

for salan it can be your regular timatar ka salan, qorma style, yogurt style or even hara masala style...

we normally use chicken qeema..

basically you can take any type of salan and replace the meat content with the kabab content.
